Most people enroll in the loyalty program by signing up using a web browser, mobile app, or at the point of sale. You can also enroll someone when they call for assistance.
Example
A customer thinks they've enrolled previously, but they didn't have a loyalty ID card at check-out and didn't get the points they believed they earned. They call for support, but you can't find any record of their membership. You can enroll them at that time and assign a Loyalty ID.
To enroll a member, you need to know:
- whether they're signing up as an individual or part of a group
- which loyalty program they're enrolling in
It's also helpful to input their name, email address, and telephone number so their record can be easily found next time they make a purchase or have questions about their membership. If they have a physical loyalty ID card, input the number so their rewards are automatically calculated.
Note
Be sure to assign a Loyalty ID when you enroll a member. The Loyalty ID can't be added directly to the member's record afterward except through a merge operation.
