Manage Segments

Depending on the permissions granted to your role, you can create or update segments in the Segments view.

Note

This entity supports division-based access control. The operations you can perform might also depend on the divisions you're assigned to.

Before you begin

  1. Expand Reference Data in the navigation pane.
  2. Click Segments.

Create Segments

To create a segment:

  1. Click Add Segment. The Segment dialog box opens.
  2. Complete each field as needed. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

    Field Descriptions
    Name *
    The name of the segment. This can be up to 250 characters long.
    Description
    The description of the segment. This can be up to 100 characters long.
    Type
    The type of segment. This can be up to 50 characters long.
    Divisions
    The divisions that govern the segment. Division permissions control which users can manage this segment record.
  3. Click OK.

Edit Segments

To change a segment:

  1. Search for the segment you want to work with. For detailed steps, see Using Advanced Search.
  2. Click the Edit icon () to open the Segment dialog box.
  3. Change the fields as needed. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

    Field Descriptions
    Name *
    The name of the segment. This can be up to 250 characters long.
    Description
    The description of the segment. This can be up to 100 characters long.
    Type
    The type of segment. This can be up to 50 characters long.
    Divisions
    The divisions that govern the segment. Division permissions control which users can manage this segment record.
  4. Click OK.

Delete Segments

To delete a segment:

  1. Search for the record you want to delete. For detailed steps, see Using Advanced Search.
  2. Click the Delete icon () in the Actions column.
  3. On the Delete Record? confirmation dialog box, click Yes.
